Situated along the longest and busiest street in Jeppestown, this three-story building offers 119 refurbished apartments varying between bachelor, one-bedroom and two-bedrooms.

Another new development from the JHC, Umndeni welcomed its first tenants in February 2014.

The complex of 351 units in three-storey walk-up blocks has been refurbished. Umndeni is next door to the JHC’s Carr Gardens and close to Tribunal Gardens as well as the Brickfields complex.

Ukhamba is a high-rise and the first JHC building in Berea.

Tribunal Gardens was the JHC’s third new townhouse development in the city, completed in 2002, after Jeppe Oval and Carr Gardens.

Towerhill, at the top of Hillbrow, combined offices and residential accommodation when the JHC bought it in 1996.

The building is in the heart of the fashion district, in an established and known residential area with a number of other established residential buildings nearby.

 It is directly opposite Lethabong and about three blocks from Landrost. There are 11 shops on the ground floor.

Tasnim was the first apartment building that the JHC refurbished, opening to new tenants in 1997.

It offers spacious one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, and a seventh-floor penthouse. Tasnim is a close neighbour of the JHC’s San Martin and New Hampstead.

Sylvadale, a six-storey apartment block, was fully refurbished by the JHC in 2001and consisted mainly of single rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.

Stanhope is a beautiful Art Deco building that dates from the 1930s and was fully refurbished by the JHC in 2005.

Smitshoff Extension is 7-storey building that was acquired by JHC in 2011.

San Martin was the first building that the JHC bought, in 1996, when it began to develop social housing in the Johannesburg inner city.

Rondebosch, originally a hotel, was completely refurbished by the JHC in 2005 and converted to provide single rooms with shared facilities.

Phumulani is part of the JHC’s popular Brickfields complex in Newtown.

New Hampstead is a central, comfortable apartment building with 32 spacious units.

Lethabong in downtown Joburg is on the corner of Mooi and Pritchard streets, right opposite the JHC’s Taylors Mansions. It was opened in 2012. Lethabong is a seven-storey building which the JHC has completely refurbished.

The Legae Accommodation is part of the popular Brickfields complex in Newtown.

The Landrost was once a five-star hotel that hosted the rich and famous.

Lake Success was the first building in the City of Joburg’s Better Buildings Programme to be upgraded successfully.

Hlanganani Gardens can be found at the heart of Cosmo City in Roodepoort. Hlanganani is “Come Together” in Zulu and is the perfect metaphor for the kind of accommodation that JHC offers here.

Come View Jozi’s Heritage

Elangeni was a breakthrough project for the JHC. It was built in 2002, the first walk-up townhouse complex to be built in downtown Johannesburg.

Douglas Village is a mixed income residential community which is made up of four previously separate stands that have been renovated and joined in 2019, Garden Mansions, Douglas Rooms, Parkzicht Mansions and Ob De Bargen.

The Dorchester was built originally as a Jewish residential hotel, catering to Hillbrow’s early immigrant population, who were mainly people from Central and Eastern Europe.

Cresthill is a City of Joburg Better Buildings project that was awarded to the JHC.

Clarence Court is just 100m away from the mixed residential community of Douglas Village in Troyville.

Carr Gardens was the JHC’s first new townhouse development in Fordsburg.

Browse all the available Brickfields flats below. Brickfields was built by the JHC in 2005 on the site of Johannesburg’s original brickfields, where the first bricks that were used to build the city were made.

Bonvista and Gaelic Mansions are neighbouring buildings and share the same entrance on Van der Merwe Street in Hillbrow. Both these buildings have been freshly refurbished by JHC.

Part of the complex containing Roseneath, Uno Court has bachelor, one- and two-bedroom flats. There is a single entrance serving the two buildings, which are run as one complex with a single access point. There is limited parking and some retail on the ground floor.
