Food Gardens
Makhulong A Matala has called on the expertise of the Food Gardens Foundation to provide training to JHC tenants involved in the Food Gardening Project currently running in some JHC buildings. Brickfields tenants created their first gardens by planted two long beds – one metre wide by six metres long – as well as 27 tyre-container gardens. Planted veggies include beetroot, spinach, cabbage and lettuce. Once grown, the vegetables will be enjoyed by the participants and their families at home.
