Newtown Urban Village - next to JHC's Carr Gardens - is being refurbished and upgraded to meet the standards of JHC properties across the inner city. The upgrade will begin from June onwards and when it's completed new tenants will be able to move in to the building.
On Track Newsletter December 2009
It seems I've just arrived at JHC and already the traditional December holidays are upon us! I would like to take this opportunity to say how pleased I am to join a company of JHC's standing and to be able to take up the challenge of increasing the pace and reach of social housing development - in the City of Johannesburg and the Greater Johannesburg Metro Area. Social housing is being recognised increasingly for the valuable contribution it is making as part of the country's overall drive to develop sustainable, integrated human settlements.

Hlanganani, JHC's new development on South Africa Drive in Cosmo City, is nearing completion and is due to open in October. Applications for leasing opened in mid-August and hundreds of prospective tenants have already visited the building since we set up a temporary leasing office on site, making it easier for people in the area to apply.

Leasing a unit at Hlanganani
Applications to rent accommodation at Hlanganani open 17th August 2009.
1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments are available. Rent rates range from about R1 500 to about R3 300 per month, plus utilities charges. As at all JHC buildings, people applying to rent at Hlanganani have to meet certain criteria.
