In September JHC celebrated the official launch of four new buildings which it has variously converted, upgraded and refurbished over the past year. The launch was held at the recently opened Ukhamba Mansions on Abel Road in Berea. We were honoured to welcome the Deputy Minister of Human Settlements Ms Zou Kota-Fredericks as our guest speaker on the occasion.

JHC expands its portfolio

JHC is pleased with the latest addition to its stock, Uno Roseneath Mansions. Uno Roseneath is a merge of two buildings, one formely known as Uno Court and the other Roseneath. The two buildings previously belonged to Connaught Properties. Uno & Roseneath comprise of bachelor, 1 and 2 bedroom flats totalling 140 units.

Hlanganani Gardens - Redefining City Living

On the outskirts of Kya Sand, north west of Johannesburg, is Hlanganani Gardens - Johannesburg Housing Company’s innovative social housing development in Cosmo City which opened for tenancy in October 2009. JHC is internationally known as a pioneer of inner city regeneration and striding out from the city for the first time in its fifteen years of existence is certainly a milestone.

Hillbrow kicks off World Cup on a brand new football pitch

JHC congratulates Madulammoho Housing Association on its latest development - the Orange Cruyff Court, a high rated football pitch which opened to the public on 10 June 2010. The Orange Cruyff Court is a generous gift from the Netherlands National Football Team, in association with the Dutch Embassy and the Cruyff Foundation.

Dorchester Mansions - More housing for the inner city

The newly converted and refurbished Dorchester Mansions brings additional social housing to the Johannesburg inner city, reclaiming another Hillbrow building to deliver decent, affordable, residential accommodation.
