A Hillbrow block of flats, recently refurbished as part of an initiative to rejuvenate the inner city, has won a prestigious property award.
Smitshof, on the corner of Smit and Hospital streets, was recently renovated by the Johannesburg Housing Company (JHC). It has received the South African Property Owners’ Association’s 2005 Social Environment Category for excellence in property development.
On the outskirts of Kya Sand, north west of Johannesburg, is Hlanganani Gardens - Johannesburg Housing Company’s innovative social housing development in Cosmo City which opened for tenancy in October 2009.
JHC is internationally known as a pioneer of inner city regeneration and striding out from the city for the first time in its fifteen years of existence is certainly a milestone.
JHC is pleased with the latest addition to its stock, Uno & Roseneath Mansions. Uno & Roseneath is a merge of two buildings, one formely known as Uno Court and the other Roseneath. The two buildings previously belonged to Connaught Properties.
